About me

I grew up in La Plata, Huila.  A small town in the south of Colombia. While cultivating a profound connection with my region, I also spent countless childhood hours captivated by the universe and the power of computation. Since then, I was determined to pursue a career in science and technology.

Additional to my science duties, I enjoy:

Specialty coffee from Colombia

You can often find me making a pour over with coffee beans produced by friends and relatives from the Huila region.

Music

I grew up listening and playing the folkloric genres from the Colombian Andes. I enjoy playing guitar and electric bass, and occasionally singing.

Active

I enjoy working out at the gym and running.

Beyond my academic pursuits, I am passionate about social impact and leveraging my skills for positive change. In 2017, I participated in the Youth Ambassadors program, a leadership initiative managed by the U.S. Embassy in Colombia and the U.S. Department of State.  I am a LALA (Latin American Leadership Academy) Alumni, actively supporting their mission to empower young leaders throughout the region since 2019. In 2021 and 2022, I worked as a Data Analyst in Propel, a social organization focused on fostering a community of technology-driven social leaders in Latin America.
